Traditional Chinese Medicine

I care a lot about being of service and enjoy the puzzle work of bringing you back into balance, and creating a integrative treatment strategy to keep you that way.

Acupuncture Moxibustion, Cupping & Gua Sha

Acupuncture is just one part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a comprehensive system of health care that treats the body holistically.

Bess has treated thousands of patients, of all ages, successfully with Acupuncture to address issues ranging from immune depletion, and pain, to hormonal imbalance and depression. Acupuncture stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system that allows the body to rest and repair itself. It is only in this state that the body & mind will be able to heal.

Moxa helps to increase circulation while warming the body. It can be used to strengthen the immune system and to prevent illness. It is particularly helpful for fatigue, muscular pain, menstrual cramps and digestive issues.

Cupping is a manual therapy used in Chinese Medicine to treat acute pain, stimulate the lungs, and eliminate digestive stagnation. Besides its clinical effectiveness, most patient's find the experience to be incredibly relaxing.

Gua Sha is the use of a massage tool to scrape the skin to improve circulation of soft tissues thus reducing pain.

Sensitive to Needles?
Since acupuncture needles are hair-thin and solid, they feel nothing like hypodermic needles, which are thick and hollow. Patients who have never tried acupuncture are surprised to discover that acupuncture is quite gentle and comfortable. Most of my patients find acupuncture to be so relaxing that they fall asleep during their treatment. Other modalities such as moxibustion, cupping, gua sha, and acupressure can be provided as alternatives for those who are reluctant to try acupuncture.

Herbal Medicine

I am an avid forager, potion maker, and studier of all things growing. Plants used as medicine have been a practice throughout the entire history of humankind, in every culture around the globe. I customize herbal formulas for each patient.   Herbs empower you to continue to support your body’s natural healing ability on a daily basis, and the treatment of acupuncture combined with herbs is much more effective and long-lasting.  A majority of the hundreds of herbs I source, are organic or fresh wildcrafted and I use them in the form of tinctures, granulated powders, or capsules.

Facial
Acupuncture

Facial Acupuncture is a non-surgical acupuncture treatment designed to rejuvenate the body and face. Fast, luxurious, and, and gentle, facial acupuncture offers the perfect solution for those looking for changes in their skin and vitality without the costs, complications, and invasive nature of surgery.

  • Eliminate fine lines & discoloration.

A typical facial rejuvenation series consists of between 8 to 12 treatments, but you can have as many or as few as you choose. Typically, you can expect to see effects after the 3rd or 4th treatment and results become more noticeable and lasting around the sixth session.
